Algy Pug – Rupert's friend, a pug who often overestimates his abilities and takes a lot of pride in himself. Despite his flaws he is shown to be a good and helpful friend for Rupert and others.

- Algy is older then Rupert in terms of appearnace. He appeared in a Mary Tourtel story, years before Rupert made his first appearance in ''Little Lost Bear''.
- Algy has almost the clothes as Bill Badger, but in different colors.
